The MTC is a non-profit arts organization that depends on contributions like yours to bring the magic of live musical theatre to patrons and students of the Ithaca community, the greater Tompkins County area and beyond.
Since its founding in 2004, the company has entertained thousands of audience members, producing such musicals as Stephen Sondheim's Assassins, Into the Woods and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years and Songs For A New World as well as Bat Boy: The Musical, Candide, Cabaret, I Love You Because, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Little Shop Of Horrors, Little Women: The Musical, William Finn's A New Brain, Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party and Rent.
In 2006, the company had the honor of hosting Jeff Marx, the Tony Award-winning creator of Avenue Q, who came to Cornell University to meet and work with students and company members, and in 2007, having attracted hundreds of Ithaca's most talented artists and performers, the company was incorporated as a non-profit arts organization in the state of New York.
